Tundish coatings are made of high quality magnesia, MgO-CaO clinker and dolomite as raw materials, with optimized particle size distribution and with addition of binder, plasticizer, water reducing agent and anti-explosion agent. Compared with conventional insulating board as the working lining, such coatings are advantageous in terms of easy installation, long service life, good slag resistance, easy disintegration after use and little pollution on the molten steel. Phosphorus-free coating is specially developed for special steel grade such as stainless steel, using special binding system. It can effectively prevent molten steel from phosphorus pollution. The tundish coatings can be installed both by manual smearing and by mechanical spraying.
