Silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide brick

Product specification

Silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide brick

The characteristics of silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide bricks include high density, high strength, good thermal shock stability, high load softening point, good thermal conductivity, high resistance, and excellent resistance to melting erosion and oxidation of cryolite, aluminum fluoride, sodium fluoride, and calcium fluoride. Mainly used in the fields of architectural and sanitary ceramics, daily-use ceramics, electric ceramics, aluminum, copper, zinc smelting, steelmaking and steel rolling, ironmaking, metal heat treatment, environmental protection, etc.

Silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide brick is an advanced refractory material mainly made of silicon carbide sand and silicon nitride as the bonding phase. Due to the fact that SiC and Si3N4 are covalent compounds, sintering is difficult, and reaction sintering is commonly used in industrial production for their preparation. Using SiC as aggregate, adding metal silicon powder, selecting a reasonable particle size distribution, mixing system, and molding process, the dried billet is fired in a dedicated firing equipment under a nitrogen atmosphere. During the firing process, the generated Si3N4 (matrix bonding phase) is a gray white crystal that can effectively bond SiC particles (aggregates) together to form a spatial network structure, giving the brick unparalleled characteristics compared to other refractory materials. Silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide material is a special type of silicon carbide brick used in industries such as grinding wheels, ceramics, and electric ceramics in the 1970s by developed foreign companies such as Norton and Carborundum in the United States, An nawevrk and HTK in Germany, and TKR and NGK in Japan. This material was introduced to China in the mid-1980s and has been widely promoted and applied for many years, gradually understanding the superior properties of silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide materials.
