Taking into consideration of the application features of slag-skimming ball and the influence of shape on tapping, SR-DZQ slag-skimming ball has been successfully developed, featured by high strength, high hits percentage and good skimming effect. They have been successfully applied in converters of more than ten steel plants, e.g. Hangzhou I.& S. Co., Lin feng Steel Co., Ling yuan I.& S. Co., etc.
