Dry vibration mixes

Dry vibrating material is composed of refractory aggregate, powder, sintering agent and admixture. It does not add water or liquid binder. It can form a dense and uniform whole amorphous refractory raw material by sliding between particles and fine powder only by vibration. Dry vibrating material is a premix of various raw materials without any liquid. It is vibrated by a vibrator into a dense construction body and can be used directly without maintenance. The key technology is that the product of self-reaction and self-sintering at high temperature must be a high-temperature phase material. At the same time, the reasonable selection of particle grading and binder is also very important.

The material was initially brought in with the introduction of electric furnaces, and was soon domestically produced. It is generally used on tundishes. The process principle of dry vibrating material is: adding various binders, modifiers and sintering agents to ensure that there is a chemical reaction between the materials at various temperatures to form high-temperature phase products and ceramic bonds, thereby obtaining strength. Dry vibrating materials should be carefully formulated with a particle size distribution of about 5mm, a ratio of coarse, medium and fine aggregates of (20% to 30%): (30% to 40%): (30% to 40%), and easy-flowing, non-angular materials.

The ratio of aggregate to powder is preferably about 65:35. In this way, under the action of a small vibration force, the particles move quickly to fill the gaps and achieve a higher packing density. The characteristics of this material are: dry construction; a working layer of a certain strength is formed by heating, which can prevent the intrusion of molten metal; the non-working layer is not sintered to reduce the stress caused by expansion and contraction, prevent the extension and diffusion of cracks in the working layer, and is conducive to dismantling and disassembling; long service life.
